Laura Castro Lindarte is a junior in the George Washington University double majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication, and Political Science.
She was born in Bogota, Colombia on December 26, 1996, and came to the United States when she was seven. Laura attended Potomac Falls High School in Sterling, Virginia, and graduated in the top 5% of her class.
After graduating college, Laura plans to earn her masters degree from Columbia University School of Journalism, and move back to Colombia where she plans to pursue a career in journalism.
Currently, she is an intern at the Hearst Newspaper Washington Bureau, and will remain there until May.
Laura’s interests include photography, designing, writing and traveling.
Her dream job is to be a print journalist because journalism is a way of uniting all her interests while doing the important task of informing society, bridging the government and its people, and giving a voice to those that don’t have one.
